Tree Top Hospital – Construction progress

Construction work continues on Hulhumale at Tree Top Hospital site at a rapid rate. Turmaks, the construction company, has completed infrastructural works and also set up the necessary equipment. This includes the installation of a batching plant and the erection of two tower cranes as well. Building in the Maldives brings a unique set of challenges – there are restrictions on transport as this involves transportation by boat and trucks. The two tall tower cranes of 46 and 41 meters respectively were dismantled and shipped to Hulhumale to be later assembled on site. Hundreds of meters of steel rods have been used to reinforce the concrete for the hospital and support building. 10% of the steel structure has been completed as of November 2015.
